Influences That Shaped My Philosophy

My philosophy for health and Vitality is centered around evidenced-based nutrition and fitness. I am an advocate for sustainable patient first diets paired with physical training to build and preserve the body and the mind, which is essential for vitality across the lifespan. Equally important is to aspire to lifelong learning, embracing new research, and maintaining an adaptable mindset that is not bound in ideologies. By integrating resistance training, aerobic fitness, and personalized, nutritional protocols, I am to empower myself and individuals to achieve wellness and performance goals.
My military service, education and personal experience has shaped my discipline and passion for health, while books, podcast and research continue to enhance my knowledge. Witnessing my family’s age-related health challenges help fuel my dedication to helping individuals live healthy, vibrant lives. As a graduate student at King’s College and a future Registered Dietitian, I am dedicated to learning science-backed protocols that promote long term health and empower individuals to live vibrant and active lives.

Personal Biography

My name is Corey Gustafik, I am a graduate student pursuing a Master of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics at King’s College, building on top of my BS in Health Science from North Central College (May 2024). At North Central College, I contributed to developing the graduate program of Nutrition and Dietetics, the date of launch is pending approval. My five plus years of service in the United States Army helped me develop into the person I am today, by instilling discipline, respect, adaptability and so much more, but I now apply these to academia and my professional ventures into nutrition. Currently, I work alongside dietitians, Nutritionist, and chefs, gaining hands-on experience to become a well-rounded RDN. At Butterball Turkey Talk Line, I am one of very few employees who are not registered dietitians, yet my knowledge and expertise have earned the respect of my colleagues. I try to stay updated with the latest research by regular reviewing peer-reviewed journals, enhancing my knowledge and abilities to use evidenced based practices and critical thinking to continue to build my foundations of science.

My life’s philosophy is rooted in respect, resilience, and holistic health. I believe in treating everyone with dignity and having empathy, as every connection may shape our paths for the future. Embracing life’s challenges and successes will help foster growth, a mindset I developed through my military and personal experiences. I am a strong advocate of surrounding oneself with driven, diverse individuals to unlock hidden potentials and reject complacency. This perspective drives my daily life to learn something new every day.
My passion for health and wellness stems from my family struggles with age-related diseases. I am dedicated to promoting healthy aging and vitality through diet and physical activity. My goal is to empower adults to prevent chronic diseases and live healthy, active lives alongside their loved ones. By integrating personalized health, fitness, and sustainable nutrition protocols, I aim to transform lives through a science and patient forward approach. As I advance in my graduate program and career, I am committed to an evidenced based approach that enhances the health and the outcomes of individuals.
